On my daily social media check, I almost went into a hypnotic scroll until I landed on this post.
I often see clients experience a sense of exhaustion following a healing session, and I wanted to share a bit of insight into why this happens. If you're feeling unusually tired after a session, it's likely because your body was already depleted. Due to the disconnection between your mind and body --often a result of chronic stress or trauma—you may not have noticed it before.
This disconnection typically occurs during the fight, flight, or freeze response, which is part of the autonomic nervous system's reaction to stress, shock, danger and/or fearful beliefs.
Once you start to feel safe, and your nervous system relaxes, you may start to feel the exhaustion that had been building up beneath the surface. This is a natural part of the healing process.
Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to rest, relax and nourish the body during this time of rejuvenation.
